Green Factory Assessment

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, to implement Made in China 2025 and Guidelines for the Implementation of Green Manufacturing Project (2016-2020) and accelerate the development of green manufacturing, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Circular of the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Launching the Development of Green Manufacturing System in September 2016, deciding to carry out the development of green manufacturing system.

It aims to boost green development of the whole industrial chain and the full life cycle of products. With enterprises as the main body of development and based on an open and transparent third-party evaluation mechanism and standard system to ensure standardized and unified development of the green manufacturing system, the system mainly covers green factories, green products, green industrial parks and green supply chains.

A green factory is a production unit in the manufacturing industry and the main implementer of green manufacturing. As the core supporting unit of the green manufacturing system, it focuses on the greening of production processes.

Green factory certification demonstrates that an industrial enterprise leads the industry in energy conservation, environmental protection and green development. Relevant Standards

The Circular on Launching the Development of Green Manufacturing System and Evaluation Requirements for Green Factories issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology specify the evaluation indicator framework, evaluation basis, evaluation methods and requirements of evaluation indicators for green factories.

GB/T 36132-2018 General Principles for Evaluation of Green Factories specifies the indicator system and general requirements for green factory evaluation. This General Principles applies to factories with actual production processes such as processing, manufacturing and assembly. It can serve as the general requirement for industrial sectors to formulate specific standards or requirements for green factory evaluation, and is the first national standard in the field of green factories in China.
