Algeria Certificate of Conformity (COC) is an official mandatory compliance document for goods exported to Algeria. It is issued by third-party certification bodies authorized by INSPQ (Institut National de la Santé Publique et de la Recherche Scientifique). The certificate certifies that products comply with relevant Algerian technical standards or equivalent international standards and serves as an essential document for customs clearance.

Certificate Features

• Validity: Algeria COC certificate is "one certificate for one shipment". It is only valid for the corresponding batch of exported goods and cannot be reused.

• Customs Clearance Requirement: When goods arrive at Algerian ports, customs authorities will verify the COC certificate. Goods without certificates or with inconsistent certificates may be detained, fined or returned.

Notes

• Validity of Test Report: Test reports used for COC application are generally required to be issued within 1 to 2 years (subject to specific requirements of certification bodies). Retesting is required if the report expires.

• Marking Requirements: Exported products shall meet Algerian marking regulations, including product name, model, manufacturer information, country of origin, safety warnings, etc. (French marking is required for some products).

• Selection of Certification Body: Applications must be processed via INSPQ-accredited third-party organizations (such as SGS, Intertek, etc.). Avoid unauthorized bodies which may result in invalid certificates.

• If you intend to apply for certification, it is recommended to communicate with authorized certification bodies in advance, confirm specific requirements according to product types to ensure smooth procedures and prevent delays in customs clearance.
